    Applying the extension of period of stay
    In principle, we, Japanese school, will submit the applications of extension to Tokyo Immigration Bureau on all students’ behalf. However, if students fail to meet the required standard of attendance rate or fail to hand in required documents to school, student will have to go to Tokyo Immigration Bureau by themselves.
    About required documents, please contact the Administration Bureau in our school.
    Applying the Permission of Activities outside of Residence Status
    If Students want to have part time jobs in Japan, students must apply the permission of engaging activities other than that permitted under residence status in Immigration Bureau. Foreigners who possess “student” residence status can apply the abovementioned permission when they first enter Japan at the immigration control in their airports of arrival.
    Foreigners who possess “student” residence status can work maximum 28 hours per week in principle. Students who have more than one part time jobs can only work 28 hours in total instead of working 28 hours for each job. Students must obey the law. Student can work 8 hours per day in the summer vacation or other long holidays when school is closed and students cannot work more than 40 hours per week during vacation period according to the Labor Standard Law in Japan.
    ※Once students know where they are about to work or the change of jobs, they shall fill out the designated
       application forms of part time job and inform the Administration Bureau in our school. Besides, students shall
       inform the Administration Bureau in our school when they leave current work place.

    About Special Re-entry System
    If students want to leave Japan for a short period of time during their period of stay and plan to come back to Japan within a year, they do not have to apply re-entry permission in Immigration Bureau.
    However, they must fill out the “Embarkation Card for Reentrant”, check the box of [I am leaving Japan temporarily and will return] and inform the immigration inspector of re-entry will while showing their residence cards at the immigration control in the airport.
    ※Attention!!! If students fail to submit the “Embarkation Card for Reentrant” when they temporarily
       leave Japan, their current residence status will be revoked.

    Applying for Reissuance of Residence Card
    If students do not possess their residence card due to loss, theft, extinction or any other reason, they can apply for reissuance of residence card. Students should go to Tokyo Immigration Bureau by themselves and apply reissuance within 14 days from the day which they know the disappearance of residence card. If they find out such fact when they are outside of Japan, they should apply reissuance within 14 days from the day they leave Japan.

    Applying to Show Chinese Marks on Residence Card
    In principle, the name on residence card will be marked in alphabet letters. Students with mid, long term period of stay and are from Taiwan, Korea or area where uses Chinese character for name predominantly can apply showing Chinese marks on residence card along with alphabet letters. Students who are interested in showing Chinese marks on residence cards can go to Tokyo Immigration Bureau by themselves.

    Submitting the Statement of Affiliated Institutions in Japan
    Students should submit the statements of affiliated institutions in Japan to Immigration Bureau within 14 day once they graduate, drop out, lose their students’ status, enter universities or vocational schools or transfer to other Japanese schools. Students can submit the statements in person or through internet. If students fail to submit, Immigration Bureau make take punitive measures against them.
